p120 Catenin

Formalin-fixed, paraffin embedded tissue block or cell block, or 1 unstained charged slide for each test requested plus 3-4 additional unstained slides cut at 4 microns. Adequate space on each slide for control tissue is required.

In contrast to the negative staining of e-Cadherin, p120 Catenin provides a positive cytoplasmic marker for lobular neoplasia of breast, including atypical lobular carcinoma in situ, lobular carcinoma in situ, and infiltrating lobular carcinoma. It may also be helpful in the diagnosis of solid pseudopapillary neoplasms of pancreas, showing cytoplasmic p120 Catenin staining, in addition to the nuclear staining of β-catenin.
