Diagnostic Utility
CD25 (IL-2Rß) is a cell surface-associated protein that is the receptor for interleukin-2. CD25 is expressed on a significant subset of activated T cells, and tends to be strongly expressed on the neoplastic T cells of adult T cell leukemia/lymphoma and anaplastic large cell lymphoma. CD25 is also coexpressed on a subset of B cell neoplasms, most notably hairy cell leukemia.
