Formalin-fixed, paraffin embedded tissue block or cell block, or 1 unstained charged slide for each test requested plus 3-4 additional unstained slides cut at 4 microns. Adequate space on each slide for control tissue is required.

CAM 5.2 reacts with cytokeratin 8 and cytokeratin 7 (Moll's peptide #8 and #7), which are found in most epithelial cells and the tumors (carcinoma) arising from these sites, with the exception of stratified squamous epithelium. It appears to have better and more robust reactivity for hepatocelluar carcinoma and renal cell carcinoma than the Pan keratin antibody.
