Calretinin

Formalin-fixed, paraffin embedded tissue block or cell block, or 1 unstained charged slide for each test requested plus 3-4 additional unstained slides cut at 4 microns. Adequate space on each slide for control tissue is required.

The calretinin antibody reliably stains mesothelial cells and mesothelioma. It can be used to differentiate mesotheliomafrom adenocarcinoma. It also stains a wide spectrum of neural and non-neural cells including steroid producing cells of the ovary and testis, fat cells, renal tubular cells, and thymic epithelial cells.
