Bob.1, a nuclear transcription factor, is expressed in normal B-lymphocytes throughout maturation, from immature forms to plasma cells. It is a useful B-cell marker, and is expressed in various B-cell lymphomas, including lymphocyte predominant Hodgkin lymphoma. The expression of Bob.1 in LP Hodgkin lymphoma may be useful in its distinction from classical Hodgkin lymphoma, where the expression of Oct-2 or Bob.1 or both may be lost.
