Ber-EP4 identifies pCAM, an epithelial glycoprotein, that is present in most epithelial cells except most squamous cells, hepatocytes, proximal rental tubular cells, gastric parietal cells, and myepithelial cells. It is useful in the distinction of metastatic adenocarcinoma from mesothelioma (usually negative), It is best to be used in a panel with MOC-31 and Bg8, among others.
