Formalin-fixed, paraffin embedded tissue block or cell block, or 1 unstained charged slide for each test requested plus 3-4 additional unstained slides cut at 4 microns. Adequate space on each slide for control tissue is required.

BCL-6 expression is limited to lymphoid cells of B-cell origin, especially in the germinal center B cells. It is thus expressed in follicular lymphoma, Burkitt's lymphoma and a large subset of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. It is also present in the L&H cells of nodular lymphocyte predominant Hodgkin lymphoma.
