Nuria Perez-Reyes, MD

Dr. Perez-Reyes is board certified in Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology and has subspecialty expertise in gynecologic cytology (Pap tests), nongynecologic cytology, and fine-needle aspiration (FNA) with special interests in pancreaticobiliary tract cytology, lung/mediastinal cytology, effusion cytology, urine cytology, and thyroid FNAs.

She attended medical school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, graduating as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Perez-Reyes did her Anatomic Pathology residency at the University of Washington Medical Center where she was the National Chair of the Resident Physician Section of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. She was fellowship-trained in Cytopathology at the University of Rochester Medical Center, Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York. She has been Assistant Director of Cytopathology at SUNY in Syracuse, New York, and Director of the Cytopathology Fellowship Program at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.

Dr. Perez-Reyes has extensive experience as a lecturer for cytopathology and fine-needle aspiration teaching conferences. She has given several Grand Rounds and regional conferences on thyroid FNA cytology and molecular testing, new technologies in Pap tests, and HPV testing. Dr. Perez-Reyes has published a wide range of topics relating to research activities including cervical human papillomaviruses, immortalization of human smooth muscle cells, breast fine needle aspirations, Pap tests, and thyroid FNA molecular testing.

She is Medical Director of Anatomic Pathology at Swedish Medical Center in Issaquah, WA.  She served as System Chief of Pathology at Swedish Medical Center from January 2018 to December 2021, which included serving on the Swedish First Hill Campus Executive Committee and Swedish First Hill Physicians Council.

Dr. Perez-Reyes joined CellNetix Pathology & Laboratories in 1999.
