Derek Ellingson, DO

Dr. Derek Ellingson is board-certified in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology and Cytopathology.  Prior to CellNetix, Dr. Ellingson served as Laboratory Medical Director and Director of Cytopathology at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN, during which time the hospital earned Leading Laboratories status from the Joint Commission in 2022. He has also worked at various hospitals across Alaska, including Alaska Regional Hospital, Alaska Native Medical Center, Central Peninsula Hospital, Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and Providence Hospital of Alaska.

Dr. Ellingson attended medical school at Andrew Taylor Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a fellowship in Cytopathology from the University of Iowa.

Dr. Ellingson has co-authored numerous white papers and articles in publications such as Gastroenterology Research and for the American Society of Cytopathology. He has also lectured at the University of Alaska, University of Iowa, the Annual Conference of Alaska Tumor Board Registrars, and Clinical Laboratory Scientists of Alaska Annual Meeting.
