Specimen Requirements
Formalin-fixed, paraffin embedded tissue block or cell block, or 1 unstained charged slide for each test requested plus 3-4 additional unstained slides cut at 4 microns. Adequate space on each slide for control tissue is required.
Diagnostic Utility
The antibody recognizes the alpha subunit of the pituitary hormone thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH). The alpha subunit is also present in follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), leuteinizing hormone (LH) and placental hormone chorionic gonadotropin (HCG). Each of the hormones has a unique beta subunit.
