Dr. Bunning attended medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine and his residency was at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. He completed two years of fellowship training at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, one year in selective (surgical) pathology and the second in hematopathology. After two years with a small group private practice, he is now Laboratory Medical Director at CellNetix Spokane.
His professional interests include oncologic pathology, neoplastic hematopathology, immunohistochemistry, clinicopathologic classification of human malignancies, and teaching.
He is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and is also subspecialty board certified in hematology/hematopathology.
