James B. Branch, MD

Dr. Jim Branch is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology with subspecialty certification in Cytopathology. Dr. Branch brings more than 15 years of pathology experience to CellNetix, following a 28-year military career which included Pathology Department Chief positions at Evans Army Community Hospital, Fort Carson, CO, and Bassett Army Community Hospital, Fort Wainwright, AK. He has also served as a Staff General Pathologist with the 673d Medical Group at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and as Officer-In-Charge of the 44th Pathology Team while deployed to Baghdad, Iraq. Prior to entering pathology residency training, Dr. Branch completed Flight Surgeon / General Medical Officer assignments with deployments to Bosnia-Herzegovina and Sinai, Egypt. Most recently, Dr. Branch served as Director of Cytopathology and Decentralized Labs, Madigan Army Medical Center, Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma, WA.

Dr. Branch received his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and completed residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Madigan Army Medical Center with fellowship training in Cytopathology at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium (SAUSHEC). He previously performed two years of training in General Surgery at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, El Paso, TX. He is a former United States Marine Corps Officer and entered the Army through the service’s Health Professions Scholarship Program.
