
Rostislav D. Ranguelov, MD
|Dr. Ranguelov graduated from medical school at the Medical University in Sofia, Bulgaria. In Bulgaria, he worked as a pathologist at the Pirogov National Institute for Emergency Medicine. In addition, he completed a residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. During his residency training in Iowa, Dr. Ranguelov was inspired by the passion, wisdom, and effective teaching of Dr. Frank Mitros.
Under Dr. Mitros’ influence, he developed a strong interest and expertise in Diagnostic Pathology of the liver, pancreas, and gastrointestinal tract, as well as general Surgical Pathology.
Dr. Ranguelov completed fellowships in Surgical Pathology and Immunohistochemistry, as well as in Gastrointestinal and Hepatic Pathology, from the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle. He is board certified in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology and holds subspecialty expertise in Hepatobiliary Pathology, Pancreatic Pathology, Gastrointestinal Pathology, and Transplant Pathology.
