Dr. Goyal attended medical school at University College Cork – School of Medicine, Cork, Ireland. He is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. Dr. Goyal completed a surgical pathology fellowship from Vanderbilt University Medical Center and a Genitourinary Pathology Fellowship (Advanced Specialty Training Program) from Northwestern University.

Dr. Goyal was a Pathology Research Technician and Undergraduate Independent Study Research Assistant for the Department of Pathology at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC, from 2002-2004. Since then, he has taught at University College Cork, McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University, and Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
