Charles R. Simrell, M.D.

Dr. Simrell received his M.D. from the University of Florida in Gainesville and then spent a year there as a NIH Postdoctoral Trainee in Cell Biology and Immunobiology of Cancer. Dr. Simrell then went on to become Medical Officer in the Hematopathology Section at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Simrell joined Northwest Pathology Services in 1993 and became part of CellNetix when the two entities merged in 2008.

He completed both his residency in Anatomic Pathology and his fellowship in Hematopathology at the National Cancer Institute at the NIH Clinical Center.

Dr. Simrell is board certified in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, and Hematopathology. In addition to his sub-specialty interest in Hematopathology, Dr. Simrell has broad interests and expertise in General Surgical Pathology. Additionally, he is fellowship trained in Hematopathology from the Laboratory of Pathology, National Cancer Institute in Bethesday, MD. Dr. Simrell has been a Clinical Associate Professor of Pathology at the University of Washington since 1995.
