Direct Immunofluorescence (DIF)CellNetix pathologists are trained in direct immunofluorescence examination of skin or mucosal biopsies, which will detect bound immunoglobulins (IgG, IgA or IgM), complement (C3), and fibrinogen. DIF, in conjunction with routine histology, may assist in the diagnosis of blistering disorders. Characteristic patterns may also be seen in collagen vascular disease and vasculitis. Biopsies must be transported in special media (ammonium sulfate) available through our laboratory. Sub-Specialty Doctors
