Anatomic PathologyAnatomic pathology is a physician specialty that focuses on the diagnosis of disease through the examination of tissues and cells taken from the patient which are often referred to as "specimens." A pathologist will use one or more highly specialized methods to examine the specimen, including a visual examination, sophisticated microscopic examination, and other techniques that provide enough information to arrive at a complete, accurate diagnosis. There are four years of medical school plus three or more years of residency training before a doctor is eligible to sit for the certifying examinations of the American Board of Pathology. Even after that certification, many physicians continue on for further years of training to gain expertise in a sub-specialty of anatomic pathology. CellNetix provides a comprehensive range of anatomic pathology services including surgical pathology, cytology, histology, immunohistochemistry, autopsy pathology, consultative or second opinion pathology, and an increasing menu of tissue and cellular-based molecular diagnostic testing.
