Commentary/Medical Interests:
After graduating Magna Cum Laude in Biology from Carleton College, Dr. Isacson completed her Medical Degree at the University of Iowa College of Medicine. She interned in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Michigan Medical Center before completing her residency in Pathology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, followed by a two-year fellowship in Gynecological Pathology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. In 1996, Dr. Isacson joined the faculty of Weill Medical College of Cornell University, where she practiced surgical pathology with a gynecological pathology emphasis, and conducted research in cancer cell biology. Dr. Isacson sits on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Gynecological Pathology and currently serves on several national committees for the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology and the American Board of Pathology. She is a sought after speaker and guest reviewer on topics related to Gynecologic Pathology, was selected as a “Best Physician in Pathology” by Best Doctors, Inc, 2007-2008, and is frequently named by her peers as one of “Seattle’s Best Doctors” in local publications. Dr. Isacson joined our Seattle pathology group in 2008. |
